This bread is great for breakfast, a snack or even for dessert. You can add to this bread by making the dehydrated apples on this site or I have prepared fresh apples sautéed in a pan. Mix in what ever fruit or nuts you like. I make 3″ pancakes and fry until golden brown. Serve with cinnamon sugar, ghee, caramel dip, peanut butter. Sometimes the sugar pack included gets hard, add it to some hot water and you are good to go.

Cache Lake Fryin’ Pan Bread is an awesome addition to any backpacking trip! I’ve tried most of the flavors, and haven’t found one yet that isn’t good. One package makes enough for 4 servings, but it’s so good that 1 or 2 people usually eat it all! This takes a little time and patience to make in the back-country, but it is SOOOOO worth it. My only gripe- sometimes the sweetener hardens and doesn’t always dissolve, even when heated by itself. I’ve gotten around this by making my own- I just dissolve sugar in the water before adding it to the mix.
