Product Description

Each 4 oz. package makes 9 oz. of bread. (That’s a full half pound or half the weight of a one pound loaf). You have a choice of Plain, Garlic, Onion, Dill, or Italian flavors. As of yet, we haven’t been able to pick a favorite. It takes Billie one minute to mix and five minutes to fry on our camp stove. Soup and Fryin’ Pan Bread™ make a filling meal for lunch or supper. It’s a delicious and satisfying addition to any meal. Use it with our products or with any meals you pack for the trail.

Unbleached wheat flour, sugar, aluminum-free baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, corn starch, monocalcium phosphate), salt, herbs and spices, dried whole egg, butter flavor (whey solids, enzyme-modified butter oil and dehydrated butter, corn syrup solids, alt, guar gum, annatto and turmeric (for color)). Onion variety contains onion. Garlic variety contains garlic, Italian variety contains herbs and spices. Dill variety contains dill.

    Cache Lake Fryin’ Pan Bread is an awesome addition to any backpacking trip! I’ve tried most of the flavors, and haven’t found one yet that isn’t good. One package makes enough for 4 servings, but it’s so good that 1 or 2 people usually eat it all! This takes a little time and patience to make in the back-country, but it is SOOOOO worth it.

    Have made this twice. First time the center did not completely cook. Second time, I left it cook on low longer(first step), then, when I flipped it over I added another coating of oil in the bottom of the pan(8″ frypan)to brown that side too. Also, covered the pan with tin foil during the low-cook process. It took another 5 minutes or so but when checked with toothpick it indicated it was done. It was thoroughly baked through and was excellent(and hot). Highly recommend but take a little longer than the directions indicate.
